Castleton High Peak W.I meets on the 2nd Monday each month, except August, at 7.30pm in the Village Hall, How Lane.  We have just celebrated our 70th Anniversary and look forward to enjoying the special occasions in 2018 to mark the Centenary of the foundation of the Womens’ Institute in Derbyshire.

Our meetings usually include a speaker:  topics range from climate change to writing poetry and have covered choral singing and jiving, with audience participation!  There is always a break for refreshments, often including home made cake or biscuits.  Special occasions like Harvest and Christmas are celebrated with supper provided by members, usually on a ‘bring and share’ basis.

Outings include theatre and cinema visits and trips to places of interest, which have included Lincoln and Wentworth Woodhouse most recently.  There are also district and County-wide W.I. events which are supported by members – our quiz team does particularly well!

New members and visitors to the Hope Valley are very welcome to our meetings.  For more information please contact Lee Pearmaine (Secretary) on (01433) 620258, Pippa Horn (President) on (01433) 621633 or Elizabeth Wetherall (Treasurer) on (01433 620280).
